La Guiannee Fort de Chartres Starts at 7:30 pm when the La Guiannee Society from Prairie du Rocher arrives at Fort de Chartres continuing a New Year's tradition beginning in 1722. Free refreshments and music. Fort de Chartres Historic Site, IL

La Guiannee Ste. Genevieve Costumed musicians perform the centuries old New Year's traditions in song throughout the town. Starts at 7 pm. Ste. Genevieve, MO

The King's Ball A costumed event continuing a traditional French pre-Lenten celebration taking place in Ste. Genevieve for over 250 years. Townsfolk, guests, and groups from nearby communities gather to dance and celebrate. Live music. Colonial dress costumes encouraged. A King and his court are selected by participants finding tokens in the King’s Cake. Ste. Genevieve VFW Hall 7 pm – midnight; dancing begins at 8 pm. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Proceeds benefit the Ste. Genevieve Museum.
